Every year Portsmouth Carers Centre looks forward to celebrating Carers Week with friends and colleagues across Portsmouth. This year they can’t do that in the usual way but they feel that it is more important than ever that we reach out to everyone who is looking after someone, to say that we stand with them at this challenging time and that help is available.
Join one of our events
Join in an online social – Thursday 11 June, 2pm – the Carers Centre is inviting carers to join a Zoom get together, get yourself a cuppa and click on the link we will provide you with to join in the chat hosted by Jayne Gentle and Ben Muller from the Carers Centre Team.

Carer consultation 2020
We last wrote a strategy for carers in 2015 – and the world has moved on since then. That’s why we’re having conversations with carers to find out more about the challenges they face and what support would make the most difference.
How to get involved
The first step in our plan was getting out and talking to carers – we want to hear what it’s like to be a carer in Portsmouth, what challenges you face and how we can work together to improve the support we offer carers.
We hosted two events in February. There were people at the event from Portsmouth City Council, Solent NHS Trust and Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust.
If you couldn’t make it one of these sessions, but still want to get involved you can complete a short online survey. You can also call the Carers Centre 023 9285 1864 (please leave a message) or visit their web page.
You can also sign up for the Health and Care Portsmouth mailing list – we’ll share the latest news about this consultation in this newsletter, which is sent regularly.
