Carer consultation 2020

Do you look after a family member or friend, or have a client that does? If you’re a carer – we’d like to hear from you!

We last wrote a strategy for carers in 2015 – and the world has moved on since then. That’s why we’re starting a conversation with carers to find out more about the challenges they face and what support would make the most difference.

How to get involved

The first step in our plan is to get out and talk to carers – we want to hear what it’s like to be a carer in Portsmouth, what challenges you face and how we can work together to improve the support we offer carers.

We’re hosting two events in February. There will be people at the event for you to talk to from Portsmouth City Council, Solent NHS Trust and Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust. As well as listening to you they will also be able to give you advice on where to go for support if you need any now.

You’re welcome to drop in, or can reserve a space in advance if you’d like – just visit one of the links below, or phone the Carers Centre on 023 9285 1864.

Can’t make it to an event?

If you can’t make one of these days, but still want to get involved you can complete a short online survey.  You can also call the Carers Centre 023 9285 1864 or visit their web page.

You can also sign up for the Health and Care Portsmouth mailing list – we’ll share the latest news about this consultation in this newsletter, which is sent monthly.
