City of Portsmouth College opens its doors to Moving Forward event
Portsmouth’s flagship event supporting young people and adults with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) is returning, this time at a new, larger venue.
Moving Forward will take place at the City of Portsmouth College’s Sixth Form Campus on Tangier Road (PO3 6PZ), offering expanded space for exhibitors and improved accessibility for attendees.
The annual event, aimed at individuals aged 14–25 and their families, brings together more than 40 organisations offering advice, information, and practical support on employment, training, health, and community services.
It is widely regarded as the city’s leading opportunity for families to explore options for life after education.
A one‑stop shop for essential support
Attendees will have the chance to speak directly with local providers across a wide range of services, from supported employment programmes and health teams to community groups and creative projects.
The new venue provides a fully accessible space with room to move around stands and a breakout corner to rest and relax. There is plenty of parking located at the back of the college with volunteers on hand to help.
Buses regularly serve the venue throughout the day from the city centre every 50 minutes to the Tangier Road stop. From there, it is a five‑minute walk to the sports hall entrance.
Large groups welcome
While the event is open to parents and carers, schools are welcome to bring groups of students along to enjoy the day. To manage capacity, Portsmouth SEND Local Offer will be operating a booking system to stagger arrivals.
